President’s Message
Welcome to Congregation Shaarei Kodesh, a synagogue you can call home. As president of Congregation Shaare Kodesh, I am proud to say that we are a community that is seven years young and growing, not only in our membership but in the number and types of programs that we offer to our members and our community. Part of our mission is to build a kehillah kedoshah – a holy community, one in which its members help and support one another and join together in times of joy and need; promote a strong commitment to Israel and Judaism; and participate in Tikkum Olam – repairing the world. This truly defines who we are and we welcome you to come see us in action.
There is always something going on for everyone to be involved at Congregation Shaarei Kodesh. We have the more traditional synagogue activities such as weekly Shabbat services, children attending the Ruth and Lewis Davis Religious School, our Kadima group, and our in-house Shabbat dinners, that are coordinated and even prepared by our own members. In addition we provide Adult Education sessions that are taught not only by our own clergy, but by many retired clergy that call Shaarei Kodesh home, as well as our own lay leaders. We also have a cooking crew which gets together to prepare meals for those who will need them in times of need and in times of joy.
As the High Holy Days begin to sneak up on us, I hope that you will come to an event to see what we are all about and seriously consider joining us. Please explore our website and feel free to call our office should you have any general questions or more specific questions for either myself, our Rabbi, our Cantor, or our Religious School Director.
I look forward to meeting you. Remember – you may walk through our doors as a stranger but everyone leaves as a friend.
B’Shalom
Heidi Aronson
